Connected. Engaged. Impactful.
Founded in 2024, the Retiree Coalition is a network of community members who are 55+ from all walks of life who are looking for opportunities to stay connected and engaged in meaningful activities that give back to our community.
Local, Meaningful Impact
As a member-driven group, the Retiree Coalition charts its own course. United Way staff helps to identify needs in the community and the coalition selects activities based on these needs and what is meaningful and important to them. Some examples of activities the group has participated in include:
- Community Garden – planning, planting, tending, and harvesting; produce donated to local families in need
- Nutrition On Weekends (NOW) food packing
- Supplies 4 Success Backpack and School Supply event
- Cookies for Kids – holiday cookie decorating for NOW children
- Adopt a family at Christmas
- Luncheon meetings
Flexible & Accessible
Activities aim to be inclusive and accessible for retirees of all ages and abilities. There are no participation requirements to be a member. You have the freedom to participate at the level that suits your availability and interests. Whether you want to attend every opportunity or once a year, you are welcome and encouraged to join.
